Nadine and Ben; Old world romance

I yearn for flowers that bend with the wind and rain
— Tso Ssu

Muse couple Nadine and Ben were married on a cold and windy Winter’s day but their love story is full of warmth and romance.

In a somewhat serendipitous way, Nadine and Ben met at a party, exchanged numbers and started their story with a text message. Their first date was a double, chomping down curly fries from their local Hogs Breath and watching the stars overhead at a lookout later. Nadine remembers the little things, like how Ben opened the door for her; its amazing how these little things become big memories over the years.

Ben proposed to Nadine on a stormy day in Rottnest Island, presenting a ring that he had busily been designing over the last twelve months with Nadine’s made of honour, Claire of KL Diamonds. Taking her to a secluded beach surrounded by crystal clear water, Ben asked Nadine to marry him and of course, she said yes! Stuff of romantic movies, their special moment was followed by a bike ride around the island while storm clouds rolled in and caught up with them. With rain falling, they had their own little Notebook moment - kind of perfect really! Nadine said she felt a mix of excitement and shock at the proposal but an overwhelming sense of happiness knowing that the rest of her life was just beginning with her best friend.

Their wedding day was cold and windy but full of laughter, warmth and joy. They started by getting ready with all their favourite people, allowing enough time to enjoy the morning, sip on champagne and espresso martinis while preserving intimate moments with their special people. Nadine remembers seeing Ben tear up when she walked down the isle and counts that as one of the most incredible moments of their lives. Holding Ben’s hand within their arbour and standing amongst candlelight in front of family and friends, gave Nadine a feeling of calmness amidst all the emotions of the day.

Love is friendship that has caught fire.

Nadine and Ben were blessed with rain (and I say blessed because I truly love the rain), sun, birds, alpacas and the most happiest of crowds. It was truly something special when it rained on their proposal, their engagement session and their wedding day! I think it really emphasises their withstanding love through all the unpredictability that life throws at a relationship. Their day reflected their love story with a little luck thrown in for some truly unique moments. A wedding is a big party, a celebration and it should be both authentic and moving; everyone can agree that it had those qualities. While you couldn’t wipe the smile off Nadine’s face, the vendors were smiling just as much! What a truly lovely day to capture, a beautiful couple with kindness, gratitude and a whole future ahead of them.

Thank you Nadine and Ben for allowing us to share your story.
