The Old Clare; collaborative shoot

Winter days and evening lights in the big smoke of Sydney gave the perfect backdrop to create a story of romance between old and new.

There is no hiding the fact that I love nature! I love the mountains and I am loud and proud about it but I have always had a soft spot for the city of Sydney. It holds all my memories of romantic weekends away including my very own wedding and honeymoon. It has been the place where I can walk the streets and indulge in history, culture and food. More importantly, its my Paris. As soon as I see the harbour bridge, I know I am in for a wild weekend, an exciting shoot, an awesome wedding - the three hour drive is worth it!

The Old Clare Hotel was my poison, finding it months ago - I knew I wanted to shoot there. Updated and refurbished but still full of old world history - this place brought back memories of my obsession with Fight Club. Its retro vibe would sit perfectly against my desire to shoot a minimal bride, and Georgia our model was literally made for this place!

Using all the layers and textures, the mood and ambience of the dark corners - I was in my heaven. Vibing off the crew, I was walking dangerous lines between shadow and light, pushing the shutter on just the right moment. I went into the shoot wanting to get just one shot, I got it! I wonder if you can guess which one it was....

There is so much beauty within the city of Sydney and I am eager to make magic there again. A big shout out to the crew who made it an experience I won't forget, absolute masters at their chosen craft! Extra shout out to The Baxter Inn...you know why!
